Frostbite Studios is the software development studio at Frostbite Companies Limited. We design and build web applications, platforms and the infrastructure they run on — for organizations in the Northwest Territories and well beyond it.
Working from Yellowknife shapes how we build. Bandwidth is not a given, distances are real, and there is rarely someone down the hall to fix a system at short notice. So we build software that is fast on modest connections, straightforward to operate, and still comprehensible a year after we hand it over.
No unnecessary abstraction. No frameworks for their own sake. Just software that holds up.

Software is judged over years, not at launch. We optimize for the version of the system that exists two years from now, when someone else is changing it under pressure.

A clever solution that only its author understands is a liability. We write code meant to be read, and we would rather explain a decision than defend it.

We build from Yellowknife, on northern bandwidth, at northern latitudes. Performance and offline behaviour are not afterthoughts here — they are daily conditions.
